As part of the project “Regional Capacity Development Network (RCDN) for water supply, drainage, and wastewater treatment services” via a video link today, June 9, 2020, a Webinar was held on “Financial aspects of water companies in the light of the COVID-19 pandemic and the support of local self-government units ”.

The objectives of this Webinar are, first of all, to exchange experiences on the challenges for financial sustainability of public utility/water supply companies (PUCs) that emerged as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic and to present examples of good practice of cooperation and support of local governments public water supply/utility companies (JVP / JKP) in this regard.

The Webinar discussed the challenges posed by the pandemic in the management of water services, especially in the financial operations of water companies, possible solutions to new situations and problems, as well as whether cooperation between local governments and water companies helps to better address the challenges.

Participants were representatives of local self-government units and public water/utility companies from four Western Balkan countries: Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Northern Macedonia, and Serbia.
