On Monday, December 21, 2020, a meeting of all participants in the project “Regional Network for Capacity Development in the Field of Water Supply and Wastewater Treatment (RCDN)” was held via video link. The main objectives of the meeting were: updating the implementation status of the RCDN project, ie. overall implementation and results achieved so far, then updating the planning of the RCDN project for 2021-2022. year, ie. how the participants will be engaged in the project and updating the redesign of the RCDN project, ie. how participants saw the Regional Capacity Development Network outside the project. Participants were IAWD, NALAS, Aquasan Network in BiH, and representatives of local governments and associations of water companies in the participating countries.

Predsjednik udruženja “Vodovodi Republike Srpske”, Zoran Popović predstavio je na današnjem sastanku rad ovog Udruženja u proteklom periodu. Od potpisivanja ugovora s GIZ-om u okviru RCDN projekta do danas urađeno je sljedeće: izrađen je Strateški plan Udruženja za period od tri godine, sprovedena je TNA analiza među članovima Udruženja kojom se dobio osnov za budući rad i razvoj kako Udruženja, tako i njegovih članica, sastavljen je katalog usluga u skladu s potrebama članova, zatim je urađen dokument na osnovu kojeg se konkurisalo prema Vladi RS kako bi Udruženje postalo od javnog interesa, pravilnici o radu Udruženja i  finansijskom sistemu upravljanja su u fazi izrade i oni će postaviti okvir unutar kojeg će se Udruženje kretati s ciljem da se jednog dana stvori profesionalno samoodrživo udruženje.

The development of joint advocacy of the Association of Municipalities and Cities and the Association of Waterworks in the Republic of Srpska is currently underway so that these two associations can act jointly with international associations. The signing of the Memorandum on joint lobbying between the already mentioned two Associations is in progress, in order to influence certain legal regulations that directly concern the communal area.

For the future period, it is planned to continue cooperation with GIZ, which would strengthen the work of the Association both administratively and organizationally, and it is planned to continue staff training, but also to hire new employees within the Association in order to strengthen its capacities. more easily accomplished.
